"Hope for Japan"は日本でそれぞれに不安や悲しみを抱えながらも助け合い、励まし合い、一生懸命毎日を過ごしているみなさんに、海外から日本を想い、応援している人たちの声を、ひとつでも多くお届けしたいと思います。私たちは皆さんの日本を思う言葉を100枚の布に綴り、織り合わせて一つの旗を作っています。そして世界の人々の気持ちの証であるその旗を被災地で頑張っている皆さまにお届けいたします。また、"Hope for Japan"の活動と作品を通してより多くの人たちに日本の状況を知っていただければと思います。世界中の人が日本を応援し、そしてこれからも応援し続けます。"Hope for Japan"の活動を記録するこのブログを訪れた方々が、少しでも元気を得て、それぞれの生活に戻っていただけたら嬉しいです。

We, "Hope for Japan", wish to provide emotional care and support to the earthquake and tsunami victims of Japan in the form of personal, heartfelt, and tangible messages. Each message is written on a small piece of cloth, and 100 of these pieces will be hand-sewn together to make one large flag that will be sent to shelters and temporary homes in the Northeast region of Japan. We hope that the recipients of our messages will recognize and remember that there are many people in the world that are thinking of them. As we expect the recovery and rebuilding of Japan to be a long one, our vision is to keep building awareness of these survivors in need of emotional support and to continue sending these “seeds of hope”.
